Objectives
To present Regional activities in the field of Climate Change; to provide a platform of communication between Regional experts and decision makers; to extend and intensify networking and co-operation between Regions; to share best practice; to develop and refine Regional strategies.
The importance of the regions in the process of implementing climate protection policies and measures shall be increased in the long term, with the objective of augmenting their influence on EU politics.
Activities
Establishing a working and information platform on the ENCORE website; sharing information on best practice; identifying projects with a common interest.
The working group highlights different climate protection policies and activities of the regions. It also facilitates the communication between experts and decision-makers as well as consolidate and intensify co-operation. Regions which actively participate in this virtual working group will have the opportunity to exchange best-practice projects and to mutually develop strategies and positions.

10-11. June 2010: 9th ENCORE Conference , Olsztyn, Warmia and Mazury (Poland). WG meeting and presentation of results 2008-2010.

27-29. October 2009: International Symposium "Strategies for Adapting to Climate Change in the Regions of Europe", Düsseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany)
The meeting was designed to pool existing knowledge about the opportunities for adapting to the impacts of climate change and to intensify exchanges of experience and expertise between the regions of Europe. During five workshops, a number of climate change adaptation projects and measures launched in various regions of Europe were presented, options for action and potential implementation problems were identified and explored, and opportunities for future EU-wide regional co-operation were discussed.
Altogether, 90 participants from 13 European countries – including representatives from regional environment agencies, the research community, industry and sectional groups – took part in five different workshops.
