2010: International Symposium on Sports and Sustainable Development, organized by the province of Drenthe (The Netherlands) and the Aragon region (Spain). Assen (The Netherlands).

During the successful meeting with the Encore co-presidents last 4 November, EC Regional Policy Commissioner Danuta Hübner encouraged ENCORE to participate in INTERREG IV-C (call opened mid October 2008, running until end of January 2009), in Fast Track modality . . The main idea of the project will be the Creation of a Data Bank for Regional Experiences on Climate Change within the EU.

Calls for participation in the ENCORE Working Group on Water. This Working Group works virtually and consists of filling-in a questionnaire, whose aim is to gather the region's experiences in water management in Europe. For its results presented at the ENCORE 2008 Conference in Zaragoza, see:

3-5. June 2009: within the framework of the LIFE-ES WAMAR project, 9 experts in swine waste treatment and management from all over Europe meet in Peñarroya de Tastavins, Aragon .

23-26. June 2009: The Government of Aragon will participate in Brussels Green Week Conference 2009. By means of a stand and a presentation on the Aragonese Strategy for Climate Change and Clean Energies by Marina Sevilla (General Director of Environmental Quality and CC), at Aragon's Office in Brussels, 23. June, 12.00h .

6. April 2009: The Basque Water Agency (URA) signed a MoU with UNDP.

25. March 2009: the Government of Aragon has approved the adhesion of Aragon to “The Istanbul Water Consensus for Local and Regional Authorities .

The Basque Country adopted a Promotion Strategy of Local Agendas 21.

First half of 2010: workshop on Education and Sustainable Development, organized by the Region of Bavaria, in collaboration with the Network of European Regions on Education for Sustainability (RES).
